How to have the color of the gridlines changed

- Go to File and choose Options.
- In the Options dialogue box of Excel, choose the Advanced option found in the left pane.
- Scroll down until you get to this section: ‘Display options for this worksheet.’
- Use the Gridline Color drop-down found at the bottom of the section and choose the color you want for the gridline.
- Click on OK afterward.

- Doing this can only change the selected or active worksheets’ gridline color. Whenever you want to have all of the worksheets’ gridline color changed, choose the worksheets by holding on to the Control Key and selecting the tabs. You will see that the workbook is in Group Mode. You can see this at the top of the workbook, as this is where they display the name. Have the color of the grid lines changed and apply it to all of the worksheets.
- Make it a point to have the sheets ungrouped by right-clicking on the tab and choosing to ungroup. If you don’t do this, it will reflect all of the changes you do in your existing sheet in every worksheet.
- It will not make changes to the default color. When you open another workbook or insert a new sheet again, it will still show the gridlines in a light gray hue.
Ways you can print out the gridlines
By default, Excel’s gridlines are not printed.
In case you also want to have those gridlines printed as well, you need to make the following changes:
- Check out the Page Layout tab.
- In the group Sheet Options, review Gridlines and put a check on the Print checkbox.

- In the group Sheet Options, go to Gridlines and have the View checkbox unchecked.

These are the things that you need to remember whenever you tinker with the gridlines:

- Gridlines don’t get printed by default.

- It can also be possible to have the gridlines removed using the background fill to the worksheet’s cells. Whenever you can see the gridlines, have a fill color applied to a specific area, and you will notice the disappearance of the gridlines once the fill color takes over. Because of that, whenever you have the whole worksheet applied with the fill color, the gridlines will not become visible. Take note that you have to take away the fill color if you want the gridlines to become visible.
How to Show the specific area of the worksheet’s gridlines
In Excel, it can be possible for you to hide the gridline or make it visible in the whole worksheet.
It may not be possible to have this shown in a particular area.
Yet, you can provide a gridline effect on a specific area by using the worksheet’s borders.
