First published on Patreon. Summoning spirits and monsters has always been the province of arcane spellcasters. That leaves a gap in 5E that seems critical to me: gods and goddesses that represent the underworld or the abyss, the mysteries of death and spiritualism, and the mystical connection between the world we see with the magics and monsters that lurk beyond it.
I wrote the Summoning domain to accompany “The Fane of the Frost Giant,” a 5th-level Swords & Sorceries adventure that takes place in the far north of the Broken Empire setting. Among the Kiavalkans of the long snows, Estala is the goddess of sleep and dreams, of death and spiritualism, of contact between the mortal mind and the heavens, of the unseen world of spirits and the underworld of the dead and monsters. She is the aurora who appears in beauty only in the night, a favorite of the secretive snow elves. Her domains are Death and Summoning.

The Summoning domain governs the connections between planes of existence and the conjuring of spirits. Deities dedicated to Summoning are often associated with trails, crossroads, boundaries, thresholds, gates and doorways, the underworld, and mysticism. In the Broken Empire setting, deities associated with the Summoning domain include the Iskutai underworld god Sahayaak; the Kahlari mother-goddess Wahan; the Kiavalkan night goddess Estala; the Samarran god Pashus the Traveler; the Sindusan god Kharan the Herder; the Sunlands death-god Alubo; the Valkani underworld goddess Illeria; and the Zyirran chaos goddess Tiamat.

There's nothing about Cleric that forces you to be good. You can also try the Death Domain in the DMG. Paladin 2 years ago. It's less that 5e assumes there are no evil PCs and more that alignment isn't as relevant as it has been in the past. Nominally intended for use by evil cleric NPCs, the Death Domain is hidden away in the Dungeon Master’s Guide. Playing a death cleric typically means worshipping an evil deity, which in most campaigns can quickly turn into a problem since the player’s are typically intended to be the “heroes” of the story.

When you choose this domain at 1st level, you gain proficiency with the Arcana skill.
ATTUNEMENT
Also starting at 1st level, you are attuned to the presence of entities from other planes. You can cast detect evil and good without expending a spell slot. You can use this feature a number of times equal to 1 + your Wisdom modifier (at least once). When you finish a long rest, you regain all expended uses.
CHANNEL DIVINITY: WARDING SIGNS
Starting at 2nd level, you learn new techniques for warding off entities from other planes. You can cast protection from evil and good once without expending a spell slot. You regain this ability when you finish a long rest.
DIVINE SUMMONER
Beginning at 6th level, you learn new techniques for summoning and controlling entities from other planes. When you cast a spell of the abjuration or conjuration school, your spell save DC increases by +2.
DIVINE STRIKE
At 8th level, you gain the ability to infuse your weapon strikes with divine energy. Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can cause the attack to deal an extra 1d8 radiant damage to the target. When you reach 14th level, the extra damage increases to 2d8.

Starting at 17th level, as an action, you may cast protection from evil and good on yourself without expending a spell slot.
